Bárboles is a municipality located in the province of Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 318 inhabitants.
History
A mediados del siglo XIX la villa tenía contabilizada una población de 264 habitantes. Aparece descrita en el tercer volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
Monuments
De su casco urbano destaca:
La iglesia de la Asunción, de estilo mudéjar con artesonado barroco del siglo XVI. Este edificio está catalogado como Mudéjar aragonés declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
El arco del castillo, del siglo XIV, en un lado de la plaza Mayor. Hecho de ladrillo y que se abre en arco de medio punto. Sobre él se encuentra el escudo de la villa, añadido posteriormente. El arco está rematado por una forma piramidal.
En sus cercanías se encontraba una mansio romana llamada Segontia que aparece relacionada en el Itinerario Antonino A-25.

Sus festividades más importantes se celebran el último domingo de mayo, por la Romería de Peraman, en honor de la Virgen de la Ola, y el primer domingo de octubre en honor de la Virgen del Rosario.
