Villaminaya is a municipality located in the province of Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 586 inhabitants.

Origins
El término "Minaya" deriva del vasco que significa pastizal. En 1211, aparece ya con el nombre de "Villa Minaya".
History
La villa tuvo un origen hispanorromano que se mantendría durante la dominación musulmana, dando lugar a un poblamiento mozárabe. La primera constancia escrita de la existencia de la población es en un documento mozárabe de 1211, donde aparece como una alquería de la comarca de la Sisla. En otro documento de 1576, se menciona que Villaminaya es una aldea de Toledo y que F. Rubio es su alcalde y Martín Rubio su regidor.
A mediados del siglo XIX el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 564 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el decimosexto volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
