Trabadelo

Trabadelo (Trabadiellu, in Leonese language) is a village and municipality located in the region of El Bierzo (province of León, Castile and León, Spain). According to the 2025 census (INE), the municipality had a population of 321.
History
In 1821 Trabadelo became part of the province of Villafranca. When that province lost its status, the 1833 territorial division assigned Trabadelo to the province of León, within a demarcation known as the Kingdom of León (Reinu de Llión in Leonese), distinct from the medieval kingdom, which is still in effect today.

What to visit
Patrimonio inmaterial:
En la capital del municipio, Trabadelo, el patrón es San Nicolás de Bari. Antiguamente se celebraban fiestas en su honor, pero posteriormente y paulatinamente se fueron sustituyendo por las fiestas que hoy se toman como patronales, las dedicadas a Santo Tirso.
Acostumbran a durar 2 o 3 días (último fin de semana de enero), en los que los bailes con orquestas, comidas tradicionales, vinos y actividades infantiles, son los ejes principales.
En los años 90, y primeros años de los 2000, se celebraron fiestas en verano, aprovechando que es la época del año en la que Trabadelo cuenta con mayor número de visitantes.
En época más reciente se celebra un festival de música folk bajo el nombre de Trabafesta, que incluye en su cartel a grupos de música celta.
En las pedanías de Trabadelo también se celebran fiestas, normalmente en verano y acostumbran a durar 2 días.
Camino de Santiago:
El Camino de Santiago pasa por Trabadelo en su tramo francés. Ha servido para dinamizar la economía municipal, ya que con el camino como eje se han creado numerosos establecimientos para acoger a los numerosos peregrinos que deciden hacer un alto en el camino.
