Torrijas

Torrijas is a municipality located in the province of Teruel, Aragon, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 87 inhabitants. This village stands very close to the ski resort in the Javalambre mountains. The local fiesta mayor takes place on the weekend nearest to August the 10th. A second fiesta is held on the 3rd weekend of September, featuring bullfights, fire bulls, evening dances, activities for children and popular meals.

History
La propiedad de la tierra fue de realengo, por pertenecer a la comunidad aragonesa. Estuvo encuadrada en la comunidad de aldeas de Teruel, en la Sesma del Campo de Sarrión, hasta la división provincial de 1833.
Hacia mediados del siglo XIX, el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 422 habitantes. La localidad aparece descrita en el decimoquinto volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:

En la localidad hay una iglesia parroquial bajo la advocación de San Cosme y San Damián. Es un templo barroco del siglo XVIII que contiene una tabla de la Sagrada Familia del siglo XVI.
