Suellacabras is a small Spanish town and municipality, located in the province of Soria, part of the autonomous community of Castile and León. It is located in the mountain range known as Sierra del Almuerzo. The most important attraction is the church of San Caprasio. In the municipality is included the village El Espino, with the romanesque church of San Benito and two hermitages: Virgen del Espinar and San Román (gothic, ruins).

History

Durante la Edad Media formaba parte de la Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Magaña, que en el censo de Floridablanca aparece repartida en cuatro partidos, pasando a pertenecer al partido de Suellacabras, señorío del duque de Alba.

A la caída del Antiguo Régimen la localidad se constituye en municipio constitucional en la región de Castilla la Vieja, partido de Ágreda que en el censo de 1842 contaba con 75 hogares y 302 vecinos. A mediados del siglo XIX, la villa tenía contabilizadas 70 casas. Aparece descrita en el decimocuarto volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:

Entre el censo de 1857 y el anterior crece el término del municipio porque incorpora a El Espino.
