Rafelcofer is a municipality in the Valencian Community of Spain, situated within the province of Valencia in the Safor comarca. The town is located approximately 74 kilometers south of Valencia city and about 6 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. The terrain is predominantly flat, with a slight elevation toward the south. The town's history includes evidence of ancient settlements, including the village of Rabat. Artifacts from the Iberian, Roman, Arab, and Christian periods have been discovered. Rafelcofer offers various cultural and natural attractions, including a local museum, El Rabat, and the Mountain of Sant Miquel, as well as various dykes and mills, some dating back to 1849 with Islamic origins. The town celebrates several festivals, including San Diego on the third weekend of August and a Cultural Week in the first week of July, leading up to the patron saint festivities in the second week of July. These events often feature moros y cristianos parades. Rafelcofer has a population of approximately 1,400 inhabitants.

Origins
El topónimo Rafelcofer es de origen árabe y refleja su formación como una alquería durante la época andalusí. El término Rafel- procede del elemento árabe «رحال» (rahal), que designa una explotación agrícola o asentamiento rural, muy frecuente en la toponimia valenciana.
La segunda parte, -cofer, presenta un origen menos claro y podría estar vinculada a un nombre propio o un término descriptivo hoy desaparecido. En conjunto, el nombre hace referencia a una finca o núcleo agrícola, coherente con el paisaje tradicional de la comarca de la Safor.

La población actual de Rafelcofer, según el Institut Valencià d'Estadística (iv,e) a fecha de 1 de enero de 2025, es de 1418 habitantes.

Fiestas patronales. Se celebran la segunda semana de julio, de martes a sábado, en honor a la Divina Aurora (Patrona Canónica y Alcaldesa Perpetua de Rafelcofer), San Antonio de Padua, el Santísimo Cristo del Amparo y la Virgen del Carmen. También se celebran el día de la juventud y la fiesta de moros y cristianos.
