Quintanaélez is a municipality and town located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 85 inhabitants.
History
Villa, denominada entonces Quintana Elez en la cuadrilla de La Vid, una de las siete en que se dividía la Merindad de Bureba perteneciente al partido de Bureba. Jurisdicción de realengo con regidor pedáneo.
A la caída del Antiguo Régimen quedó constituida en ayuntamiento constitucional del mismo nombre, en el partido Briviesca, región de Castilla la Vieja. A mediados del siglo XIX, la villa tenía contabilizada una población de 56 habitantes. Aparece descrita en el decimotercer volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
