Origins
La primera documentación de población en la zona data de 1044, en la que se menciona el término de Uranave, término formado por Ura- que en euskera y en lengua de origen paleoeuropeo, significa ‘agua’ y -nava / -nave, que en euskera significa ‘tierra llana’. En Castilla se llaman de esta manera las llanuras de diversa extensión cercadas por montañas.
El término Puentedura se cita en 1125 como La puente, citado como un contenido meramente viario, aunque en 1233 se constata como un lugar poblado y en 1293 se reconoce como punto viario importante.[cita requerida]

Puente de Puentedura, de siete ojos que atraviesa el río Arlanza.
Ermita de la Virgen del Camino.
Iglesia de la Anunciación.
Antigua casa consistorial (construida en 1798 y en cuyos soportales se encuentra un potro antiguo).
Ermita de San Millán, con pinturas del siglo XVII, que representan la Última Cena, y un Cristo del siglo XIII. La talla más importante que se encontraba en la ermita (Virgen con el Niño, segunda mitad del siglo XII), se exhibe en el Museu Frederic Marès, perteneciente al Ayuntamiento de Barcelona.
