Cuevas de San Clemente is a municipality located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 59 inhabitants.
History
A mediados del XIX, el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 174 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el séptimo volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
Es la localidad natal del famoso artista, pionero de la abstracción expresionista en España, Modesto Ciruelos.
