Portas is a small municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Caldas.
History
Hacia mediados del siglo XIX, el municipio tenía contabilizada una población de 1745 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el decimotercer volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz con las siguientes palabras:
