History
A mediados del siglo XIX el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 411 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el decimoprimer volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:

Leyendas:
En la localidad veneran a la Virgen del Buen Suceso, se la llama así debido a que a una aparición de la Virgen en la que les dijo "Buen suceso habéis tenido".
