History
En el término municipal, dos kilómetros al este del núcleo urbano, se halla la abadía de Santa María Real de Párraces. En 1835, con la desamortizazión de Mendizabal, el monasterio pasaría a convertirse en finca y residencia privada. Estuvo englobado en el Sexmo de la Trinidad de la Comunidad de ciudad y tierra de Segovia.
A mediados del siglo XIX el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 353 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el cuarto volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
