Muelas de los Caballeros is a municipality located in the province of Zamora, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality had a population of 246 inhabitants.

Origins

History
En la Edad Media, Muelas de los Caballeros quedó integrado en el Reino de León, cuyos monarcas acometieron la repoblación del oeste zamorano.
Posteriormente, durante la Edad Moderna, estuvo integrado en la provincia de las Tierras del conde de Benavente, y dentro de esta en la receptoría de Sanabria.
En todo caso, con la creación de las actuales provincias en 1833, Muelas quedó adscrito a la provincia de Zamora, dentro de la Región Leonesa, quedando integrado en 1834 en el partido judicial de Puebla de Sanabria.
En torno a 1850, el antiguo municipio de Gramedo se integró en el de Muelas de los Caballeros, mientras que el de Donado no se integró en él hasta 1968.
