History
Sobre la base de los datos del censo de Pecheros de 1528, en el que no se contaban eclesiásticos, hidalgos y nobles, se registra la existencia 45 pecheros, es decir unidades familiares que pagaban impuestos.
A la caída del Antiguo Régimen la localidad se constituye en municipio constitucional en la región de Castilla la Vieja, partido de Ágreda que en el censo de 1842 contaba con 88 hogares y 350 vecinos. A mediados del siglo XIX, el lugar tenía contabilizadas 88 casas. Aparece descrito en el noveno volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
Monuments
Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. Tiene incoado expediente como bien de interés cultural en la categoría de monumento desde el 4 de enero de 1983. En septiembre de 2016 se resolvió positivamente el expediente sobre la iglesia.
