History
El municipio dilareño es una de las treinta y cuatro entidades que componen el área metropolitana de Granada, y comprende únicamente el núcleo de población de Dílar —capital municipal—, así como los diseminados de Alcántara, El Batán, Cañadas del Parque, Los Cortijillos, Era del Cerrillo, Hoya del Castaño, Jurado, El Toril y Las Viñas.
La mayor parte de su término lo ocupa el parque nacional y natural de Sierra Nevada.
