Benquerencia (Spanish pronunciation: [beŋkeˈɾenθja]) is a municipality located in the province of Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 98 inhabitants.

History
A la caída del Antiguo Régimen la localidad se constituye en municipio constitucional en la región de Extremadura. Desde 1834 quedó integrado en el partido judicial de Montánchez. En el censo de 1842 contaba con 70 hogares y 283 vecinos. A mediados del siglo XIX el lugar tenía contabilizadas 68 casas. Aparece descrito en el cuarto volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:

Iglesia parroquial católica bajo la advocación de San Pedro Apóstol, a cargo del párroco de Valdefuentes, en la diócesis de Coria. Cuenta con la ermita del Santo Cristo del Amparo.
