Origins
El topónimo Zorita es posible que tenga un origen árabe, cuyo significado sea paloma azul. El término "de la frontera" se debe a que el pueblo estaba situado en la frontera de León y de Castilla durante los siglos XII y XIII, concretamente en el territorio adscrito al Reino de León.
History
Su término municipal está formado por las localidades de Zorita de la Frontera y el despoblado de Aldehuela de las Flores, ocupa una superficie total de 32,13 km² y según los datos demográficos recogidos por el INE en el año 2025, cuenta con una población de 140 habitantes.
Monuments
La iglesia, dedicada a San Miguel Arcángel, consta de tres naves, dos del siglo XV y la meridional del XVI. Los muros combinan el uso de ladrillo, tapial y sillería arenisca. La nave central está cubierta con un artesonado mudéjar del siglo XV. Posee a los pies una tribuna plateresca de madera del siglo XVI y el retablo mayor, churrigueresco, de finales del siglo XVII, junto con otros cuatro de un barroco más avanzado de mediados del siglo XVIII.
