Origins
El origen del nombre probablemente proceda del latín (villa) Germinati, indicando la pertenencia a un possessor llamado Germinatus, nombre de origen latino. Alternativamente, es derivado de *(villa) Iermiati, genitivo de Ieremias, forma latina del nombre hebreo Yirmeyah.[cita requerida]
