Terradillos de Esgueva is a municipality and town located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2022 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 69 inhabitants.
History
En el Cartulario de San Pedro del Arlanza figura como el 27 de abril de 1054, en presencia del rey Fernando I, de la reina Sancha y de su hijo, el futuro Sancho II, de obispos y de condes, la bien abastada y noble señora Muñadona, hija del matrimonio de Gudesteo Múñoz con Teresa, hace a san García, abad de Arlanza una importante donación de bienes poseídos por ella, entre los que se encuentra Terradillos o Terratellos, diminutivo de "terrudo", que pueden ser adobes.
No se conservan restos del conocido como convento de La Arroyada.
Así se describe a Terradillos de Esgueva en el tomo XIV del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar, obra impulsada por Pascual Madoz a mediados del siglo XIX:
Durante el período 1820-1927, Terradillos de Esgueva estuvo agregado al Ayuntamiento de Villatuelda.
