Susqueda (Catalan pronunciation: [susˈkɛðə]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Selva in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the Guilleries Massif area, on the left bank of the Ter river in the north-west of the comarca. The Susqueda reservoir is on the municipal territory, and the associated hydroelectric power station is an important source of local income. A local road links the municipality with the C-152 road to Santa Coloma de Farners.

History

En este municipio se encuentra el embalse de Susqueda, que dota de agua a la ciudad de Barcelona, y su central eléctrica. El núcleo antiguo del pueblo se encuentra sumergido bajo las aguas del pantano a más de 130 m de profundidad. Debido a ello actualmente Susqueda se compone de tres núcleos: El Coll, Sant Martí Sacalm y El Far. La orografía complicada del territorio separa de una forma muy contundente los tres núcleos, el pantano y el risco del Far complican los desplazamientos entre los vecindarios.
