El nombre del lugar puede encontrarse escrito con las variantes San Sadurní d'Osormort, San Saturnino de Osormort y Sant Sadurní d'Osormort.

History

A mediados del siglo XIX, el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 229 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el decimosegundo volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:

Monuments

Iglesia parroquial de San Saturnino de estilo románico, construida en el siglo XI.

Dentro de su término, en un lugar conocido como Puig Castellar, se han encontrado restos de cerámica de un antiguo poblado ibérico.

La masía Masferrer sobresale por su arquitectura del siglo XVII, con la fachada esgrafiada y excelentes trabajos de forja en sus balcones.
