History
Despoblado por la expulsión de los moriscos en 1609. A partir de 1960 sufrió la emigración rural.
Monuments
Palacio de Rugat. (siglo XIV)Mantiene la forma original, la bodega y la prisión en el subterráneo, la cocina vieja en la planta baja, y en el piso superior se guarda la antigua andana para la cría del gusano de seda.
Iglesia parroquial. (siglo XIV) Estilo renacentista. Tiene dos naves que parecen ser los restos de una iglesia anterior a la que añadió una nave paralela para ampliar las dimensiones del templo.
Destaca en su interior el retablo renacentista de doce tablas, dedicado a la Verge de la Gràcia, obra de Nicolau Borràs (alumno de Joan de Joanes) de finales del 1500, concebido para el monasterio de la Valldigna.
