El Rosario is a municipality in the northeastern part of the island of Tenerife in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife province, on the Canary Islands, Spain. The seat of the municipality is the town La Esperanza, in the mountainous interior of the island. The municipality includes the coastal town Radazul. The population is 17,960 as of 2025, its area is 39.43 km2.
History
El Rosario es un municipio muy diverso en cuanto a las características fisiográficas y humanas, desde los llanos de La Esperanza hasta la costa de Tabaiba. El municipio forma parte del área metropolitana de Santa Cruz de Tenerife junto con San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tegueste, Tacoronte, El Sauzal y la propia Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Dicha área metropolitana tiene una población de más de 449 472 habitantes.
