Pratdip (Catalan pronunciation: [ˌpɾadˈdip]) is a municipality in the comarca of Baix Camp, in the province of Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. It has a population of 781 (register office, 2025) . Most of the people of Pratdip work in agriculture in the pastures, fields, and forests around the village. Prominent local agricultural products are hazelnuts and almonds.

History

The oldest documents that refer to Pratdip by name are papal bulls of Pope Anastasius IV in 1154.

In medieval times the town was part of the Barony of Entença.

Fiestas:

Pratdip celebra su fiesta mayor el 18 de julio y la segunda fiesta en el mes de septiembre.

Leyendas:

Existe la leyenda de los dips, unos perros vampíricos que asolaron la comarca y cuya figura aparece en el escudo de la población, así como en retablos de una ermita cercana dedicados a la patrona local, Santa Marina. En esa población existen también las ruinas de un castillo que la tradición oral local atribuye fue la morada de Onofre de Dip, otro señor feudal convertido en vampiro. Esta leyenda la recogió el escritor Juan Perucho en su novela Las historias naturales.
