History
A mediados del siglo XIX el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 418 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el decimosegundo volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
