Meaño is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of O Salnés. Situated in the Rías Baixas, a local specialty of the region is its Albariño wine.
History
A mediados del siglo XIX, el municipio tenía contabilizada una población de 2740 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el undécimo volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz con las siguientes palabras:
