El Maíllo (Spanish pronunciation: [el ma.ˈi.ʎo]) is a village and municipality in the province of Salamanca, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y Leon, Spain. It is situated some 72 km (45 mi) from Salamanca, the provincial capital. As of 2016 the municipality has a population of 287 inhabitants. The municipality has an area of 46 km2 (18 sq mi). It sits at 985 m (3,232 ft) above sea level. Its postal code is 37261.

Gastronomy
El producto ibérico es protagonista en la gastronomía de El Maillo. El plato típico son sus famosas "patatas meneás", cuyos ingredientes principales son patatas, tocino de cerdo, pimentón y laurel. Uno de sus platos más curiosos es "el limón", compuesto por limón, naranjas, sardinas en lata, chorizo y ajo. Una mezcla tan inverosímil como deliciosa. El "limón" también lleva huevos cocidos y una de las yemas cocidas se pone en el mortero con vino y se machaca, después se echa como salsa; las sardinas son opcionales.
