Hontoria de Cerrato is a municipality located in the province of Palencia, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2018 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 103 inhabitants.

Origins
Su nombre, Hontoria, proviene del término latino 'Fons Aurea' fuente en torno a la cual nació un asentamiento romano. En 1975 se descubrieron vestigios evidentes –cerámica romana, tejas y piedras– de la ubicación de una villa romana junto a las ruinas del antiguo convento de Santa Coloma. Los lugares del interés para los visitantes son: la iglesia de Santa Columba, que fue donada al Abad Luminosa del Monasterio de San Isidro de Dueñas. Los historiadores creen que es mozárabe, puesto que Santa Colomba fue una santa cordobesa del siglo X. A su vez, la iglesia parroquial de San Miguel de Arcángel conserva restos románicos del siglo XII, aunque cuenta con elementos góticos y barrocos.
