Gimenells i el Pla de la Font (Catalan pronunciation: [dʒimeˈneʎz i el ˈpla ðe la ˈfɔn]) is a municipality in Segrià, Catalonia, Spain, made up of the settlements of Gimenells and the smaller el Pla de la Font. It has an area of 55.8 square kilometres and in 2011 had a population of 1,169. The mayor is Dante Pérez Berenguer. It has a population of 1,069 (register office, 2025) .

History
Gimenells contaba con un pequeño núcleo de habitantes en la época previa a la invasión musulmana, aglutinado en torno a su castillo.
Sin embargo su historia moderna comienza en 1928, con la ubicación de la Obra Tutelar Agraria y la apertura de los primeros regadíos; en 1939, el Instituto Nacional de Colonización acomete su repoblación.
Durante la década de 1940, se instala el Centro Técnico que servirá de sede para desarrollar tareas de planificación agrícola.
En 1959 se funda la parroquia de Gimenells, eligiéndose como patrona a la Virgen del Rosario y como patrón a San Isidro. Ese mismo año, el Instituto Nacional de Colonización crea también la aldea de Pla de la Font.
En 1965, el Instituto Nacional de Colonización adjudicó al contratista de obras públicas, Fernando Bernabé Montalbán, las obras de afirmado y asfaltado de las calles del núcleo de Gimenells así como las obras de pavimentación de las nuevas calles y accesos del pueblo de Pla de la Font.
Sus intervenciones formaron parte de la política estatal de creación de nuevos pueblos vinculados al regadío, desarrollada por el Instituto Nacional de Colonización entre 1939 y 1971.
