Garvín de la Jara (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡaɾˈβin de la ˈxaɾa]) is a municipality located in the province of Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 109 inhabitants.

History
Desde su reconquista a los musulmanes perteneció al concejo de Talavera de la Reina, estando Garvín integrado en la provincia de Toledo y en el partido judicial de Talavera hasta la redivisión provincial de 1833, año en que pasa a formar parte de Extremadura. A la caída del Antiguo Régimen la localidad se constituye en municipio constitucional, entonces conocido como Garbín, en la región de Extremadura. Desde 1834 quedó integrado en el partido judicial de Navalmoral de la Mata. En el censo de 1842 contaba con 40 hogares y 219 vecinos.
Hacia mediados del siglo XIX, el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 219 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el octavo volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
