A mediados del siglo XIX el lugar tenía contabilizada una población de 117 habitantes. Aparece descrito en el séptimo volumen del Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España y sus posesiones de Ultramar de Pascual Madoz de la siguiente manera:
En la obra El Obispado de Sigüenza, ó sea Nomenclátor descriptivo, geográfico y estadístico de todos los pueblos del mismo (1886) el pueblo aparece descrito con las siguientes palabras:
