Castell de Castells (Valencian: [kasˈteʎ de kasˈteʎs], Spanish: [kasˈtel de kasˈtels]) is a municipality high in the mountains of the Marina Alta on the Costa Blanca in southeastern Spain. The village is at the source of the Rio Jalón and surrounded by mountains. It is approximately 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from the nearest village of Benigembla, and 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Jalón, the nearest large town. It is approximately one hour's drive to the beaches, the Fuentes de Algar, and Terra Mítica theme park. Also in the area are the caves of Vall d'Ebo and Benidoleig. The highest peak of the Serrella mountain range, Malla de Llop, is over 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) high. The remains of the Arabic castle, Penya Castellet, and many trails are found in the area, popular for walking and mountain biking. The area has a rich history with three settlements around the village: Pla de Petracos, Bitla and Pla d'Alt. Travelers can visit Els Arcs' naturally formed arches which are some of the largest natural arches in Europe. The ruins of these settlements are now being rebuilt as modern homes. The area and mountains are very popular with mountain bikers and walkers alike. Trails are well marked with white and yellow markers. Five kilometres outside the village in the area known as Pla de Petracos are ancient cave paintings said to have been painted over 5000 years ago. Caves at the archaeological site have a viewing platform, and the paintings are explained on six interpretive panels. There is also a museum in the village open on weekends The village has an hotel, Hotel Serrella with restaurant. Two Casas Rural / bed and breakfast, Casa Pilar and Casa Blanca. Several bars, and other restaurants, all quite different and serving traditional or international dishes. Three kilometres outside the village is an enormous natural arch, Els Arcs. Said to be one of the biggest in Europe.

History
En el Pla de Petracos hay un yacimiento prehistórico que habla de la antigüedad del lugar; aun así, la población tiene su origen en el antiguo Castillo de Serrella, por lo que también es conocida como Castells de Serrella. Formaba parte de los dominios de Al-azraq hasta 1254 cuando Jaime I lo incorporó a la Corona de Aragón. En 1290 (1320 según otras fuentes) fue comprado por Bernardo de Sarriá y posteriormente pasó a la orden de Calatrava, la cual constituyó el Castell de Castells. Fue un lugar poblado por abundantes moriscos que ocupaban 170 casas en el momento de la expulsión. A dicha medida se opusieron por las armas y fueron derrotados, después de destruir la iglesia, en la Batalla del Pla de Petracos. La posterior repoblación se hizo con cristianos mallorquines.
Monuments
Santuario de Pla de Petracos. El yacimiento con arte rupestre de Pla de Petracos se localiza a unos 500 metros sobre el nivel del mar, en la margen izquierda del Barranc de Malafí. Descubierto en 1980 por miembros del Centre d'estudis Contestans, está compuesto por ocho abrigos de los que cinco presentan motivos pintados perfectamente visibles. Declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
Iglesia parroquial. Edificio de interés arquitectónico.
El Castellet. Zona de acampada con una extensión de 20 000 m². Situada a 5 minutos de la piscina municipal, domina diversos paisajes, entre ellos los restos del castillo árabe situado sobre la Peña del Castellet, dando nombre a la misma. Existe una ruta de senderismo que, partiendo de la zona de acampada, nos lleva a las ruinas del castillo.

Fiestas patronales. Se celebran en honor de la patrona Santa Ana del 26 de julio y la Asunción de la Virgen a partir del 15 de agosto. Destacan sus procesiones, desfiles de moros y cristianos, verbenas y las populares carreras de gallos.
