Arganza (Spanish pronunciation: [aɾˈɣanθa]) is a village and municipality located in the region of El Bierzo (province of León, Castile and León, Spain) . According to the 2010 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 944 inhabitants while the village has 245.

History
Las primeras noticias de poblamiento humano en el municipio se datan en la época romana, en la cual se ha catalogado un castro existente en las cercanías de Campelo, que podría haber sido un castro original astur posteriormente reaprovechado por los romanos.
En la Alta Edad Media, el territorio del municipio de Arganza quedó englobado dentro del reino de León, en cuyo seno se habría acometido la fundación o repoblación de las localidades del municipio. Así, cerca de Arganza se levantó en esta época un palacio real construido originalmente por el rey Vermudo II de León en el siglo X.
Ya en la Baja Edad Media, Arganza fue un señorío dependiente del conde de Lemos, pasando más tarde a los dominios del marqués de Villafranca, en torno al siglo XV.
Finalmente, ya en la Edad Contemporánea, en 1821 Arganza fue una de las localidades que pasó a formar parte de la provincia de Villafranca o del Vierzo, si bien al perder ésta su estatus provincial al finalizar el Trienio Liberal, en la división de 1833 Arganza quedó adscrito a la provincia de León, dentro de la Región Leonesa.

Dentro del término municipal se halla la iglesia parroquial (la cual se remonta al siglo XVI), la casa-palacio de los Canedo, el castro romano en las cercanías de Campelo, la iglesia parroquial de Campelo, el palacio de Arganza, la iglesia parroquial de San Vicente, la iglesia parroquial de Espanillo, la iglesia parroquial de San Juan de la Mata y la iglesia parroquial de San Miguel de Arganza.
